Cactus Country: Photo Diary

Cactus Country is located in Strathmerton, a small country town approximately 3 hours north of Melbourne. It is home to the largest cacti collection in Australia, with thousands of cacti grouped and colour coded into their countries of origin. Perfect for a day trip, or if you’re in the area, it truly is a cactus lovers paradise.

We spent a couple of hours wandering around the 10 acres of land, which is filled with cacti of all shapes and sizes. The beginning of Spring also meant we were lucky to see some of the flowers in bloom. I honestly felt as though I was in another country, and so happy to have discovered this little slice of Mexico only a few hours away from home!

There is also a nursery where you can purchase your own plants to take home, and a Mexican cafe if you get hungry! Just a heads up, it is $12.50 entry for adults, and sometimes they close a couple hours earlier if there are special events on.

If anyone has been, let me know your thoughts below!
Happy Taco Tuesday!!
